Our Philosophy
In accordance with the Bishops' Pastoral, "TO TEACH AS JESUS DID", the
philosophy of our school may be stated as intending to "Make one's faith become
living, conscious and active through the light of instruction" and through the
experience of living and working in a Christian community. Holy Cross School is an
extension of the Catholic Family unit and strives to support and supplement it. It is
an integral part of the Parish -- its goal being to build up that spiritual community.
While this is the basic underlying reason for our existence as a unique entity, we
must also strive to have an excellent educational program, caring for the complete
development of each of our students and producing good secular citizens in the
process. Each person is to be accorded the dignity and respect due to every child of
God and all students must become known as individuals with potential to be
recognized and realized. This should be the case in all areas of development;
spiritual, social, emotional, physical and intellectual. All of these aspects must be
integrated in an approach to learning and living in the lives of all members of the
school community.
Finally, instruction concerning the Catholic Faith and the experience of living in a
Christian atmosphere should result in an increased awareness of the needs of Church
and State. The desire, as well as the ability, to serve others as a true witness of
Christ should be instilled during the process of education at Holy Cross School.

social, emotional and physical needs. We are a ministry of Holy Cross Parish.
Our children are educated to be fully prepared to meet their responsibilities to God,
their families, community and themselves.
Each student is recognized as a Child of God with individual needs and talents to be
